A Summer Trip to Cinque Terre

This summer, I, Tino, had the opportunity to explore Cinque Terre with my family. Our journey began in La Spezia, a charming city on the Ligurian Sea that serves as the gateway to the five villages of Cinque Terre. From there, we took the train, a popular means of transportation in this region, which brought us to our first destination: Riomaggiore.

Riomaggiore: The Start of an Unforgettable Journey

Riomaggiore, the southernmost village of Cinque Terre, welcomed us with its colorful houses clinging to steep cliffs. Numerous photo stops allowed us to capture the breathtaking views and picturesque alleys. The village, with its narrow, winding streets and small harbor, instantly put us in an Italian holiday mood. Although the weather was not entirely on our side, with occasional heavy rain, it did not detract from the beauty of the place. On the contrary, the rain brought a refreshing coolness and made the greenery even more vibrant.

Manarola: A Living Painting

Our journey continued to Manarola, probably the most famous and photogenic village of Cinque Terre. The picture of Manarola adorning the bathroom in Bella Donna came to life before our eyes. The pastel-colored houses terraced along the cliffs, the deep blue sea, and the lush vegetation are even more impressive in reality than in the most beautiful photographs. Manarola offers numerous viewpoints from which you can enjoy unforgettable views of the village and the sea.

Despite the rain that accompanied us here as well, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. We took more photo stops and let ourselves be enchanted by the special atmosphere of the place. The rain ensured that the temperatures remained pleasantly cool, making it easier to explore the narrow alleys and steep paths.
